This website will allow you to explore the fascinating history of the landscape of this special and unique area.

The Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs AONB cover 380 square miles of Dorset, Hampshire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

The project aims to study the historic development of the modern day landscape of the area and forms part of a nationwide programme of Historic Landscape Characterisation supported by English Heritage.
